I Tried Learning How To Dance As A Super Shy 30 year old

In this video, I learned how to dance and performed in a show for the first time ever. Dance was something that I always wanted to do because it seemed fun but I was too shy for most of my life to try it. After growing older, I realized that I wasted too much time worrying about what others thought about me instead of experiencing life the way I wanted.

So here I am at 30 years old, trying new things I’ve never done before and in this video, I tried performing in a show for the first time in my life. 😳

As someone who started dancing again after years of not at 26, props to you girl!! You killed it and looking fly at the ripe young age of 30. Keep at it!! You’ll love yourself for sticking with it years down the road

hi, professional dancer here who also started in adulthood (started mid 20s for myself, developed into something way bigger than I anticipated). Came across this video randomly, thank you for sharing, first of all!

Just wanted to leave this here to encourage anyone else wanting to pursue dance but are afraid it's too late: it's never too late to pursue "having fun." It doesn't have to turn into a career, and no one can fault you for just having a good time. I tell my students that class is the time to celebrate PROGRESS, not perfection. And progress means something different for everybody.

Hop in class, because why cheat yourself out of a good time?

I've never seen a video that is even half as inspirational as this for me personally. I'm 25 now and feeling like I'm getting to old to learn new things and cursing myself for never doing anything while I was younger. There's a few dance studios around me and I've been really interested in learning to dance, I think you've just given me that final push of inspiration to really go out and try! So thank you for showing me that it isn't too late.

you inspire me to try dancing myself!! so many people tell me that I’m too old to start (at the very old age of 17) but now I feel more confident in at least trying.
PS your hair is gorgeous!

This video really came to me when I wasn’t expecting it. I’ve always wanted to try out dancing but I’m too shy as well and thought now I’m too old for that too (27years old) but this just inspired me to try things out because certainly life is about learning and growing and trying things out no matter the age! Thank you :)

I’ve been dancing for five years now, i’m currently 17 and ik i’m not in my 30s or mid 20s but i can surely say it’s never too late to start! Dance can help with anything, confidence or self esteem… it’s all about having fun! I teach women that are 40! they kill it too

I'm in my 30's and I started my first kpop cover dance group this year. Amazing to see your story and you overcoming your shyness and courage to perform. Great job!

I used to dance in high school and now it’s been about 7 years. I do some Kpop dancing in my room lol, but I definitely don’t have the stamina I used to and it’s not the same as taking a class and doing something with a group.

Edit: I just watched the performance at the end and YOU KILLED IT HANG!! 🔥

Go girl!!!
I went to k-pop cover dance classes since last year when i was 34. It was around twice a month first. Then since this february i`m going to dance school for jazz-funk, contemporary and hip-hop 2-3 different trainings a week plus gym. I never really danced before in my life, never been sporty or active and i weight 92 kg, so it`s all really challenging for me. I`m also working on losing weight for better dancing. But i feel so much pleasure from dancing, i feel myself prettier and stronger. And capable to do things that not everyone can do, sort of superpower.

I LOOOVE watching someone talking to themselves in the mirror. I think it's super empowering, developing that bond with yourself. And it feels so sweet, warm and nice😊

this gave me the push to try out classes, It’s been a dream of mine forever but i am mortified, shy, scared, and discouraged by what others have said, but i love dancing and I’ve been hesitant because im 21 and dancing seems like something a lot of people start at a younger age. this is truly so inspiring and you shocked me at how amazing you danced… makes me think i won't be able to do as well as you, but i am willing to finally try. hopefully i can find classes out here

ure so lucky to have a supportive group esp when ure trying out stg new! i too was brave and tried dancing a year-ish ago by joining my school dance club, but u can really feel the vibe how ppl only talked to u if u had a dance background and if u dont ure lowkey outcasted!! so many times in my club and 2 dance projects that i felt so outcasted like i didnt belong u know :, ) the recent dance project, the choreographer which was younger than me just look so DONE w me and pissed off. there were no constructive criticism just blatant pissed off and done w the grp yea so anyways i havent dance in a while ? :, ) i was truly excited to grow as a person but man i just felt so left out in that club
