Yep, here, fanny is cute word for butt lol, first time I was in UK, was asked how my flight was, I replied, it was fine but my fanny was getting numb lol, wow, room got so quiet could hear a pin drop. I was like, what I say wrong, some lady whispered in my ear what it meant there 😲😲. I was very embarrassed to say the least lol 😳

You can use Scottish pound notes in England. Sometimes you'll find a place that's confused by them- but that's simply because they're very rarely used in England and in a minority in the UK as a whole. It's not a big deal. If you're worried about it, after leaving Scotland, simply change them at a bank in England for B of E notes. You don't need to change them before you leave Scotland.

The two fingers just means peace, or vogue if it's by the face

Here in America the two fingers in a V means Peace, like Peace Out is goodbye, it is used as a hello or a goodbye sign. Very friendly.

I'll be visiting Scotland from the US for almost 6 months starting this coming May. This was really helpful. Thanks!

The V sign with the palm of the hand out to the viewer is Victory. With the back of the hand out to the Viewer it is an insult, or more accurately a challenge to a fight. It was the sign made during the hundred years war with France. English Archers would show they still had their fingers to the French before they slaughtered them using longbows. (Captured archers would have their archery fingers cut off).

American Express is used widely in the US.I have travelled extensively in the UK and on the continent and have used American Express cards in every country I have visited. There are some business in all three that don't accept AMX, but there are many more that do. Your "information" is simply wrong.

No Welsh banknotes, they use English notes. And I find threatening the English shopkeeper with my accent makes them accept my Scottish note.

Fanny used to be a woman's first name in Victorian times in the UK.

funny that the Victory V comes from the English archer in the 100 years war, because the France cut this two fingers off so the archers could not use them anymore and so the archers who still hat this two fingers showed them in this way. In the WW II Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill used it as a Victory sign, it really is a English thing and nothing from the USA.

I love the little thing you did at the end with the split screen. It was funny.

In the States, the open 2nd and 3rd fingers forming a v shape is really a throwback to the hippy movement of the 60s was a gesture that meant peace.

The two finger insult really goes back to medieval archers as they used two fingers to draw and fire arrows from their bows. If I am remembering this right, they would sometimes lose fingers from opposing archers, and they would use the two finger insult as a back handed gesture to show that they can still fire arrows.
