im not sure if you realize this but they pop up when not attacking them, so pause for a moment and as soon as they start the popup animation start shooting, good luck!

Careful using explosions and certain on hit effect items like ghost pepper on them they'll smush their face and delay opening up even longer it can make it much more harder depending on the situation but it'll mostly be annoying
