Because of the crazy price increases, I only went preloved for my Chanel classic flap. All the other brands I bought brand new. No real reason but just preference! I’m happy people have options to either go preloved and/or brand new from the stores!

I've never bought a handbag pre-loved, but I have bought a couple of SLGs that were discontinued and were no longer in store because it felt less risky and not that much of a financial investment. It's also great to find pieces of things that you can't buy separately in store like some people who buy Neverfull pochettes or I have bought a Felice chain and a chain extender that LV doesn't sell separately in store. I don't enjoy going in store because it doesn't feel like a luxurious experience anymore so try to avoid it unless it's always sold out online, and I have to go through an SA. The pre-love market helps you bypass all that drama. But, it's crazy that pre-love is many times more expensive than brand new retail prices. That I won't do!

I love buying preloved . I taught myself how to do leather / bag restoration so I am able to purchase well loved items at cheaper prices than normal and restore them back to almost new .

Honestly Fashionphile to me is not a place with great deals anymore. I refuse to pay more than retail to start with and if I’m to save only 100$ on something, I will be patient and go get it from the boutique. There’s no point for me to it, even less if I’m not 100% sure of the authenticity. So I’m not really into pre loved at the moment for the brands that I really love.

Fashionphile has gotten so greedy nowadays with the lowball offers yet sell the items at least 20% above retail, although I do like that they have 30 days return policy, making it less risky than shopping from other prelove platforms like Vestiaire Collective. I’m a big fan of Italo jewelry! I bought a tennis bracelet and some stud earrings from them recently, and I’m very happy with the quality so far. The white sapphire even look good under the loupe, and sad to say that it sparkle more than my real diamond tennis bracelet that’s made in decent specs (brilliant cut, F&G, VS1) 🥲

I enjoy shopping pre-loved. I've purchased things from stores, but always return to pre-loved because I think if I can find the same quality or condition for a lesser price, then why not try for it. I've also turned to pre-loved more while living in an area of the USA where it takes me several hours to drive to designer stores and larger department stores. It is still a treat when traveling to those larger cities to stop in and look around for something I might like to determine if I want to search for it pre-loved or by it at retail.

We use to get a good deal but now fashionphile is pretty much the same as retail. And sometimes depending how in demand a bag is it’s even more expensive to buy 2nd hand! I recently submitted a quote for my Pochette Metis and they said right now they can’t accept mine as they have a lot in stocks. I am staying away from preloved as i have sensitivity to scent and most older bags have that odd smell i dont like. But if i see a good deal here and there i might take it.

Great video. Totally not surprised with the quotes. With Covid there was slot of online purchases. I personally loved the preloved market. You can find great deals on like new bags. Now sometimes the prices seem outrageous but you can’t still find a deal. For me it’s my go to if I know I’m unable to pay retail.

I regularly buy Pre loved here in the UK…and always bag a bargain…especially from a couple of Companies I know to be reputable and who describe their items well, for example, condition, odours, etc. I also don’t live near any of the main brand boutiques so have to rely more on online offerings. Quick comment about Chanel though …as soon as I learnt they were opening VIP stores I was fairly convinced that that is where the luxury experience will be felt, to include great SAs no doubt and goods that have actually been exposed to a top level of quality control and will actually be available to purchase.
