The cut soda bottle also works great for catching pesky flies: put a few tablespoons cola, (or fruit juice or sugar water)few drops of detergent, teaspoonful of vinegar in lower part of bottle. Flies cant fly up through inverted narrow neck of bottle. I sailed from Georgia to New York with a boat load of biting flies, driving me crazy. Best fly trap ever!
