Is it possible to have a pizza that has health benefits? Yes! The healthy version of pizza I recommend is keto pizza—which means it’s low-carb. There are a lot of health benefits of going low-carb. 

Benefits of a low-carb diet:

• Healthy blood sugar levels

The most unhealthy part of a pizza is the crust. So, we’re going to make our healthy pizza with a cauliflower crust. 

Cauliflower is a neutral-tasting food that can mimic starch. It’s a part of the cruciferous family, and it has a lot of healthy nutrients. It’s also low in carbs and sugar and high in fiber—making it the perfect ingredient for our healthy pizza crust.

One of the biggest things to remember when making this keto pizza is to bake the cauliflower crust before putting any toppings on it. After the crust is cooked, you can take it out, put the toppings on, and bake it again. 

Here’s how to make healthy pizza at home (for more instruction, watch the video and check out the link above).

Ingredients:
• 2 cups organic shredded cauliflower 
• 2 organic pasture-raised eggs 
• 2 cups grated organic mozzarella cheese
• Your choice of toppings 
Optional:
• 1/2 tsp garlic 
• 1/2 tsp oregano 
• 1/2 tsp basil 

Directions: 
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit / 218 degrees Celsius. In a large bowl, mix the cauliflower, eggs, mozzarella, and spices of your choice. Form the crust on parchment paper and transfer it to the oven. 

After 10 to 15 minutes, or when the crust is light brown, remove it from the oven and let it cool. Add your toppings and bake the keto pizza again for 10 to 12 minutes. Enjoy!

One extra step, after you shred the cauliflower, put the crumbs into a pan at low heat and evaporate out moisture from the cauliflower crumble. It removes around 1/3 of the volume. This allows for a thinner, firmer, and more realistic crust. Be sure to bake it on a parchment paper. Easy to remove.

I tried this receipe, the crust is waaayyy easier to make (verses dough) and the entire pizza is delicious. This is my go-to pizza now, Thanks Dr Berg, you're amazing!!!!

I have made this pizza many times and it is great! My only mods are to add EV Olive Oil to the crust mix and also open and quickly vent the oven (using a Convection oven) a few times to allow the moist cauliflower air to escape. Also bake it on the parchment paper on a preheated (20 mins) pizza stone. Our entire garden is now specifically for growing items for making this type of pizza.

You have to spray the parchment paper with avocado oil spray. The crust will definitely stick to the paper and your crust be ruined and you’ll have to start all over. I learned this the hard way.

I've already made Dr Berg's version of keto pizza and it's so delicious 🥘😋 and it was successful from the first time. I also add greated hallomi cheese ( which takes a bit longer to melt than mozzarella) but it's so delicious, and I add a sprinkle of zatar too ( dried Middle Eastern thyme) onions, tomatoes, oregano, and garlic powder. This recipe can easily as well replace Middle Eastern Manaqeesh مناقيش or the Arabian version of pizza, which are usually eaten for breakfast.
