Remember, no matter what, you are at the mercy of your dm having their fun too.
Anywhere. Anytime. Any. Way.

Huh, invisibility spell says "a creature you touch" not "a willing creature".
Someone could cast this on a Weeping Angel statue....

good news:
invisibility is a concentration spell

so just get the BBEG to drop concentration, and the cleric can be found :D

I'd like to think that this is a continuation of the previous Short where the Party is in the fight with the 726 people they've just killed.

Cleric rolls nat 1 death saving throw
DM "Tough luck buddy but-" proceeds to make it worse

Imagine making your saves after that and getting back up, the big bad is patting themself of the back for what a mischief they’ve done before receiving a guiding bolt out of nowhere and panicking.

The monk fighter multiclass with haste active, with eleven attacks and stunning strike on his way to break his concentration in a single turn

As a player, I have run into a similar situation twice, both while playing 3.5 ed.

Our rogue drank an invisibility potion while fighting a dragon, got hit by the breath weapon, and went to negative HP. We didn't know where he fell until after he died.

The other time, my wizard was trying to avoid being targeted and went invisible before getting caught in an enemy fireball. It put me to -9, and only my familiar was able to bail me out before I kicked the bucket.

Vortex warp needs sight to target so if he makes them invisible first he can't warp them

Edit: unless he has true sight

Vortex warp: target you can see within range. Just because you cast the Invisibility spell doesn't mean you can still see him for the targeting of the second.

1. Invisibility is concentration, so just break their concentration
2. Vortex warp requires a con save.
3. Vortex warp specifies a target you can see
4. I'm falling for the bait by commenting

Isn't there a Find Object type spell? If another party member has that he can cast it to find one of the objects the cleric has on his person to find him and try to feed him a healing potion.

“Don’t kill your players for bad rolls, just terrorize them.” 😭

Vortex warp requires the creature to be seen. So unless he can see invisible things, he couldn't cast vortex warp on the cleric. Even if he could, cleric would have still had to make a con save.

Of course, casting two leveled spells on the same turn conflicts with legacy rules, but it is a dope idea for a trick. Breaking the evil sorcerer's concentration may be difficult if they have Legendary Resistance, which they can burn to succeed on their Con saves to maintain concentration. Fun threat to introduce :)

The quantum mechanic hits! Your position is suddenly very uncertain...

Honestly i love this because it seems like this huuuge threat because your under turn pressure, especially because i would imagine being downed they wont get a saving throw for the invisibility.

But, invisability is a consentrarion spell. Cracks knuckles.

This is exactly why half of the entire party has at least one healing spell

"The boss casts Invisibility on your dice. That means I will be making all your rolls behind the screen."
