The RIBZ Front Pack for Backpacking and Fly Fishing

I always love your reviews, they are honest and to the point. I like how it fits when I have another pack on it seems to even it out if your gear is packed evenly and as you pointed out everything is right in front of you. This pack was a God send to me as I am disabled and it makes life on the trail easier. We all know how space and weight are a big factor in the hiking world, I use mine for all of my emergency gear, and also I put fishing gear in it as well. It can be a little warm though!

It wasn't that hot when I did the video so I didn't notice but I'm sure it would make you hotter in warmer weather. I would just loosen up the fit to let some air circulate. I plan to use this for snowshoeing where it wouldn't be an issue.

Cool that you recognized it! For lakes and bigger streams, I use the Amago. For small streams, I use the Iwana.

i just thought of this, the vertical zippers should of been at the top, so you start at the top and open when you push it down. cause i can see some stuff falling out.

Nope. Just a fixed furled line tied to the end of the rod.

I suppose it depends on how you're using it. If you're using it to balance your backpack, then you probably want a weight slightly less than what you're carrying on your back. If you're using it solo, probably up to 10 lbs. would still be comfortable. Again, it depends on your constitution.

Nice review. I am interested to know if excessive body heat is retained while wearing both, backpack and Ribz while on a backpacking trip?

Actually, the one I use in the video is an old model where the zippers close down. In the current model, the zippers do indeed close up.

The zips seem to pull down to close, at first I thought they seemed "upside down". I dont know how they would work like that. do you find them ok that way ?

dude its more made to keep important stuff that u might readilyt need available like a gun or a map or somthing
