The Adams County Historical Society is an archival research library officially recognized as the repository for Adams County records. These county materials include selected birth, marriage, and death records, estate papers, tax books, and deeds. In addition to county documents, the archives contain record and manuscript collections for local businesses, clubs and organizations, families, and Battle of Gettysburg-related materials like civilian accounts and damage claims. The society is also home to a collection of photographic prints and negatives that exceeds 200,000 images.

It seems ACHS has very limited resources. So perhaps it's impossible to even think about, not only cataloging by computer, but also scanning all documents, diaries, photos etc.? Thus there would ultimately be a digitized record of everything on file. Then ACHS could additionally profit by (for a price) making this digitized material available online.
