Fruit Bats Are Basically Flying Puppies

You thought that bats were dangerous killer animals. Well, not this one at least. This is a gigantic fruit bat that we met up in the mountains of Bali Indonesia. This Indonesian guy has this bat as a pet that he rescued as a baby and has kept it with him for many years.

Flying foxes/fruit bats are very social and sweet and curious animals. They can still bite, but ones that you are allowed to touch are generally very sweet and dog-like toward humans. We're like weird monkeys to them

Bats are chill. People are scared of them, partially because of diseases, but mostly because media villainizes them. They’re just misunderstood. Maybe that’s why I like them so much. Bats, crows, black cats, I just think they’re all misunderstood, and it’s quite sad. They can be very friendly. I dunno, tho, maybe it’s just my obsession with halloween and spooks that makes me like them.
