Fixing My Old Artwork #3

Hey guys! Today I I dug up some more of my old, childhood artwork and chose a drawing that I am going to re-do them as an adult and see if I can improve it!

This is kinda similar to the "draw this again" challenges I've seen from other youtubers. I was originally going to title this "Re-doing my childhood artwork." BUT I realized this video has a super similar format to my squishy makeovers. There's an art critique section (squishy roasting) and it's all about taking something that doesn't look it's best and transforming it into something new.

Hey! my name is Moriah (pronounced muh-rye-yuh 😂 ) and this is my channel....obviously. I'm 27 and like doing anything creative...and being snarky.....just a lil. I make a lot of decorating, painting and general art videos here. I'm obsessed with editing and adding lil bits to my videos, so if that's not your thing....oof you may hate this haha. I paint on squishies, thrift store finds, and other random things I pick up. I also love to draw, but don't expect anything too skilled, I'm not the best at that haha. You will also find occasional crafting/testing crafting kits on my channel which are always a hot mess. And even some baking (REALLY bad at that, but it's fun to try LOL).

This unlocked a childhood memory for me! I think the hedgehog + mitten art piece is related to the children's book "The Mitten" by Jan Brett. It's about a hedgehog and some other forest animals cuddling in a mitten to keep warm.

For some reason I do sort of remember hedgehogs being somewhat popular when I was a kid - idk why, maybe Sonic the hedgehog? 😅

Pretty sure your childhood art was inspired by Jan Brett's book The Mitten! Complete with the hedgehog and the bordered art style. Made me nostalgic right away! :3

I think you were recreating a scene from the book The Mitten by Jan Brett in your original drawing. A series of animals including a hedgehog find a boy’s mitten and try to curl up inside to stay warm. It’s a super cute story I like to read my students during winter. Another great one that features a hedgehog by Jan Brett is called The Hat. One of your teachers probably read it to you and that’s why you drew the picture.

The hedgehog is from a book called "the mitten" its such a cute book my mom always would read it to me when i was little ❤️ hope this helps
