How to sync Mendeley with your iPad PDF app

Reading and annotating papers on an iPad is a much more enjoyable and a more productive experience than reading them on your desktop. However, you still want those annotations to be synced into your reference manager (e.g., Mendeley Desktop!).

In this video, I'll show you how to use any PDF reader on your iPad and have the annotated papers synced with your Mendeley Desktop.

hi, would you consider doing an uptodate video for this issue? Mendeley no longer has the preferences you are showing and I cant think of how to use it effectively on the tablet now. Thank you :)

Unfortunately, Mendeley Desktop has been discontinued. Only Mendeley Reference Manager is available, but there's no way to edit the File Organizer folder location so it cannot be uploaded to PDF Expert :(

Thanks for the clever idea! I can use my Onedrive cloud, however I find that the annotations from the PDF expert are not reflected in the Mendeley Reference Manager (only the Mendeley Desktop).

When I click on "Preferences" it only shows me "Groups" as an option - Isimply can't find the tab "File Organizer". Has anybody else had that problem or has a solution for me? Thanks a lot!

Hi! The new version of the Mendeley doesn't provide the "preferences" section like the video. That is why I cannot find where Mendeley stores the pdf that I uploaded. Do you have any information about it:) If you have, please share, I am desperate 🥲
