Thomas Brophy, PhD, is president emeritus of the California Institute for Human Science. He also serves as president of the Society for Consciousness Studies. He is author of The Mechanism Demands a Mysticism: An Exploration of Spirit, Matter and Physics as well as The Origin Map: Discovery of a Prehistoric, Megalithic, Astrophysical Map and Sculpture of the Universe. He has also coauthored, two books with Robert Bauval titled Black Genesis: The Prehistoric Origins of Ancient Egypt and Imhotep the African: Architect of the Cosmos.

In this video from 2020, he describes his research in portions of the Sahara desert that are rarely explored where he encountered prehistoric, megalithic structures of astronomical significance, as well as rock paintings and inscriptions. He explains how these artifacts were created by the black population at a time when the area produced rains and had many animals. When the climate changed, he believes that these people migrated east and north and helped to create the culture of ancient Egypt.

Edited subtitles for this video are available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Polish, and Swedish.

New Thinking Allowed host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in "parapsychology" ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). He is also the Grand Prize winner of the 2021 Bigelow Institute essay competition regarding the best evidence for survival of human consciousness after permanent bodily death.

The Africans - and Egypt is in Africa on the continent - have their own histories. Go ask the Nubians, their current day neighbors to the south what their history is.

Before Alexander the great and his dynasties that followed, the people were African.

It's in the art of the Greeks who encountered the ancient Egyptians. Look there too.

Thank you both for a fine presentation. The racial origin of these people is relevant because their is a history of, euro-centric, scholarly racism about the early Egyptians and their origins. This resulted in skewed data, conclusions and perspectives. Please, either inform yourself of this, or don't play dumb, and pretend that it is of no relevance. Let's all just be honest about all aspects of the data and where they lead.

the problem with calling black africans, is that not even north africans think of themselves as one single ethnic group, i'm from Algeria and basically there are what you can describe as white and black dominated ethnic groups in different regions and cities, but culturally we all agree that the ancient culture was Amazigh even tho Amazighs have different ethnic origins, you see from light dark skinned Touaregs in Tamanrasset, to blacks in Ouargla for example, to pale white in Kabyles, to mixed olive in the majority of the rest of the population, and the introduction of Arab culture and some Yemeni and Egyptian normad tribes in the past few centuries complicated the already complicated map, i think the ethnic diversity of Africa isn't as simple as what you see in native american popular, or Asia, or even Europe.
I also saw lot of those stone age drawings here and there of Savana like culture, of oxes, giraffes an elephants in north Africa which don't exist anymore

This is a fascinating discussion given that humans evolved in Afrika. I've wondered about the Egyptian story for years.

Why did you use the term “Black African” rather than “Southern African”?

So much racism in the comments for an astrophysicist who simply presented facts about African past accomplishments. Some people are doomed...
