Not a teacher, but a student. In 5th grade, I had (and still do) a comfort plushie for my high anxiety. Only one teacher has ever said anything about it, but not only did she say something, she tried to permanently confiscate it. My mom had to bring up sources and articles about how plushies can be more helpful than distracting. Needless to say, I was incredibly anxious and got zero work done until I got it back.
