Calcharo was considered one of if not the strongest attacker in Wuthering Waves during the recent closed betas and even when he came out. But in just a few patches he quickly disappeared from top tier discussion. For our next Why NO ONE Plays episode, we'll be covering Calcharo and how he fell off so quickly.

Calcharo is the diluc of wuwa, an extremely hyped character that everyone usted and had a high tier at lunch but then people noticed their flaws and got replaced by another five star who appeared just a few months after launch who use their same teams (diluc --> klee --> hu tao) (calcharo --> xiangli Yao)

As a Calcharo main, I already knew this video was going to happen eventually as soon as the doomposting started 😭 This is the third time one of my mains gets a WNOP (alongside Blade and Sephiroth)

I guess you could say that Calculator was the Diluc of WuWa. But, Dynamic actually found his place in the meta again with the introduction of Xianyun... Then again, Shinramyun took 3 years to make Deluxe meta again. At this point, Carbonara is in meta hiatus and only time will tell.

Calcharo is that one character that NEVER leaves my team..been playing with him since the release and he is amazing for my team.. tho im still salty that we don't have a single mention of him in the main story or even have his own story 😭

I play Calamari the same way I play Danjin. They help you play better due to their strict and unforgiving playstyle. When played well, Cucaracha could still clear the tower.

Also, holy Sephiroth. His design is cool.

Chicharron has a pretty good range for a broadblade user. Chuppacabra's first BA and plunge attack can easily parry enemy's attacks. Also, Chimpanzee excell in quickswap team due to his multiple skill activation and Liberation intro. One of the few things that bring Chocobo down was the best in slot echo for him is just as clunky as him. Overall Chimeramon is a really fun character to learn due to his high skill ceiling and I can't thank him enough for carrying me through the first 6 act.

I actually main Calcharo. I haven’t played in a while due to personal reasons but I am redownloading the game to return. And I return to this video. Kinda sad to see my favorite character get treated this way.

You are the FIRST content creator I have heard pronounce his name correctly, so you get an instant like for that LOL. I love Calcharo's design and I am eagerly awaiting his story quest so I'm devastated he's fallen off so hard, but I still use him since I haven't finished building my Xiangli Yao yet. I know the Kuro devs listen to their players, but I won't get my hopes up that they make Calcharo more playable in the future. I will just continue to enjoy him from a lore & design perspective, and use him for less difficult content.

I honestly think he just need QoL and not even numbers buffs. Like for example, getting a stack of forte when you dodge counter. Among others.

Another thing is that XY has his Sig weapon while LaCucaracha doesn’t.

None of the 5* broadsword work that well on him as a sig weapon and the 4* bp weapon doesn’t have enough raw stat

You said that Xiangli Yao is a perfect powercreep of Calcharo, but you basically said that they’re both Electro Hypercarries, it’s not even just that, because ALL of Xiangli Yao’s damage scales with Resonance Liberation damage, whereas only the bulk of Calcharo’s damage does, which means that not only is Xiangli Yao’s best teammate also Yinlin, but he makes use of Yinlin’s buffs even BETTER than Calcharo does

Though I agree with almost everything in this video, there is 1 thing you forgot to mention.

Attack speed is an existing buff in the game. It is widely used in DIR. If future support comes that gives insane attack speed bonus, Calcharo will benefit immensely. Meanwhile Xiangli Yao potential is capped, because his ult can only do 3 empowered skill.

Attack speed, if ever exist in a support, can boost Calcharo heavily.

Calcharo Beta vs Calcharo in game feels like night and day difference, he was brutally nerfed :(

In beta his damage actually far surpasses jiyan so his hard playstyle was very much worth it
but its kind dumb of kuro to remove the very thing that kept him up in that throne
its crazy how nerfing one mechanic (yinlin swap) can make him perform way weaker
he went from top to mid same tier as lingyang who only got his sub dps a couple of months ago
