Setting up a CA Technologies Pressure Pot For Resin Casting

In this video I walk through the setup for the 2.5 gallon CA Technologies pressure pot for resin casting. It's a bit quicker than the Harbor Freight preessure pots, they are almost ready to go out of the box.

I enjoy your videos. I watched the pressure pot vs vacuum chamber videos. Sea level pressure is 14.7 psi so when you put 50 psi in the pressure pot you're getting 3.5 times more pressure using a pressure pot vs vacuum chamber. It's all about cure time. You don't have time to pull the air out at low pressure but you do have time to force the air into solution like Cliff Hartle suggests.

Thanks for the rundown. I picked up a Craftsman Pressure pot that was still in the box, probably from 1980 or so but the fittings are all missing. I got it for 20.00 though so now I am off to get a regulator, valve, and fittings!

I want to make stuff that will not fit into a pressure pot at all, I want to make resin with no bubbles for large items, that I will have to pour resin. Do you have tips for this? Hey Zac, I made a comment on the your video a few weeks ago that inspired me to purchase this pot. This video came in handy when it came down to setting it up (would have never known to purchase tape to air seal the male-female parts if it weren't for you). After waiting 3 hrs, I noticed my pressure drop from the initial 50 psi to about 45 psi. I'll try your soap + water trick. Thanks for another great video!

Thanks Zac! I know you said the connectors are 1/4" but do you know what threads? And, is there any particular reason you run an elbow out of the regulator instead of a union to the Ball Valve? Is it just for the way your setup is or does it matter? Thanks again and keep producing the great content!

Great info Zac. Would setting up the 5 gal tank be the same as you show for the 2.5 gal?
And, would you use the same psi (60 psi) in the 5 gal? I’ll be using it on its side.
