Fun fact: Snyfort (a popular roblox animator) doesn't use Moon Animator but instead programs his animations together using An old Roblox Animator Plugin and basic Lua programming. This allows you to exceed from the current limitations of the Moon Animator plugin. Good old Stopmotion is an alternative.

The reason is as it is growing in popularity, they add more features, and so they no longer want it to be free because of their work. They upped the price from 800 to 1, 700 because
A: They want to cash in and
B: Its just high demand rn so they raised the price, it might only get higher from here

the problem is now it's going to be harder for animators to animate, meaning less animators, which means most games won't have any good animations, and the demand for animators will increase, this also makes it a very big disadvantage for those who want to get into animating without any robux, they could be trying animating to get robux in the first place.

they should make three different moon animators, moon animator free, lite, and pro. Pro moon animator is 1700, lite is 800, and free is well... Free. They all are the same moon animator, but the higher the price, the more the capability.

I'll give my personal opinions.

Likes:
1. I'm glad they're getting money now

Dislikes:
1. First mistake was even expecting profits, why make it free in the first place?
2. Potential upcoming animators have been eradicated (I presume most people prefer free animator)
3. Making a product initially free then making it paid makes them automatically scummy, I'm sorry, Roblox is THE WORST place to make money, you want money? Get a job, infinitely better than Roblox's horrendous cuts.
4. Seriously, this is Roblox, you're not getting money unless you make super popular games.

Yes, if 10000 people bought it, you'd have 30k, but in the long run and in more realistic terms, that's not a lot as far as I'm aware.
