What If the Sun Collided With a Black Hole?

You've heard the Soundgarden song, but how about a real Black Hole Sun collision? Most black holes are the remnants of massive stars. Would our Sun survive the collision, or could a black hole make some serious cosmic trouble for the ruler of our Solar System?

I've always wondered... if our galaxy was currently in the middle of a gigantic black hole would we even be able to tell? How many black holes could fit inside each other? Is that even possible?

I am a very big fan of space, and your space videos are making me learn about new planets! Like Kepler-452b, and it's teaching me more stuff about space! Thank you and keep it up!

Not that we'd feel it, but we'd observe time dilation as well once we're close to the black hole. We'd see things on earth all the same, but we might notice other things in the galaxy and universe as a whole happening at a faster rate because time for us would slow way down the closer we were to the event horizon due to gravity's effect on time. Of course, unless we were established in a relatively stable orbit of the black hole, we wouldn't have time to note all this.

1:53 another such event that could make black holes go "rouge" is a supernova that is uneven i.e more force applied in one direction

@1:37, small correction: The closest "supermassive blackhole" to us. There are a lot of stellar, intermediate, and miniature mass blackholes much closer to us than Sagittarius A*. In fact the closest blackholes to Earth discovered are less than 1000 light-years away, while Sagittarius A* is over 25 000 light-years away from Earth.
