Doyle sure took his sweet ass time getting back and staring at every possible distraction...

This scene was so terrifying when I saw it in theater's. You really feel the dread of the wave coming towards them, the hopelessness of finding the beacon, and how every second is a lifetime on earth just drifting away.

I have always said Interstellar is in the pantheon of greatest films of all time.

Doyle was looking at that wave for a week 😂

It's quite frightening to know each ticking sound represented 1 single day back on earth.

A mega tsunami every few minutes already told you that this planet is uninhabitable without the needs of gathering the data.

The gravitational pull from the Black-Hole is insane….. the reason that wave was so big.

"Brand, Doyle, back to the ranger now"

Mcconaugheys delivery of that line, calm yet urgent, and Hans Zimmers music gives me goosebumps without fail, every single time

As an astrophysicist by training, I cannot even begin to explain how belittled I feel when I watch this movie and to imagine the worlds out there. To know that there is so much more than what I will ever know, to realize I don't matter much and yet I do.
Interstellar is deservedly among the greatest movies ever made.

I love how the alien planets in this movie were ACTUALLY alien planets. Not just 'forest planet' or 'desert planet.'

That wasn't a planet. That is heaven for surfers.

“Those are no mountains. Those are waves.”

“They’re too big to be waves.”

I love how this is filmed to just show how tiny they all are compared to the just gigantic wall of water and the concept of that much water moving that fast is so terrifying. It to mention they are so far from home as they point out the longer they’re here the more time they miss on earth.

You may be inclined to disagree with me, but I think Doyle's death adds a sense of realism to the whole scene. We're watching a film through a screen, and we know whatever is happening in the scene can't actually hurt us. we think we could have survived and that the characters are stupid for dying, But imagine you're there. A massive wave tall enough to look like a mountain heading straight towards you and in that moment you realize everything you did in life, your hopes and your dreams and your wants and your fears were so... insignificant. so tiny. and for a second, you freeze. your legs give out beneath you. you gaze in awe and terror at something you can't even understand. you get back to your senses and try to get back in the ship and BOOM, you're dead. you were too late. You think that what I'm saying is too dramatical? too stupid to be real? People die in the most dumbfounding sudden ways. especially when it's related to natural disasters.

Am I saying Nolan thought about all this and wrote it in the script? maybe, but probably not. However, I do believe that if I was in that situation, that's probably the way I'd go. And for me, that makes the scene even more terrifying.

Saw this in the Royal Albert Hall with live orchestra and the mighty organ. Praying they’ll do it again! I don’t know why they wouldn’t!

I'm fascinated by CASE and Doyle in this scene. CASE was just standing around with no initiative, still holding the useless beacon, and had to be given a direct order by Doyle to go and retrieve Brand. Do you think if they'd brought TARS with them to the surface (the robot who took the initiative to disable the ranger's auto docking procedure because he didn't trust Mann) instead of CASE, that Doyle would have survived? Interesting to think about, considering that Cooper had TARS stay behind because he didn't like how chatty he was. Interesting interesting. I love this movie.
