Actually there is risk of earthquake in Idaho in different areas, plus we are next to the Yellowstone National Park, probably the biggest volcano ever .

My family recently moved from Phoenix, AZ to a rural area outside the wood river valley and we absolutely love it.

I’m born and raised here, middle class, educated, etc. Wages have remained about the same while housing costs have skyrocketed due to the influx of people who can “get more bang for their buck” in the housing market. Most of us who grew up here as millennials and some gen x’ers can’t afford to live in Boise anymore (particularly in the homes shown in this video). This is happening other places, of course, but you should be aware this is a reason why some people are upset with the growth.

Idaho is pretty welcoming as long as you're not from Comifornia

My daughter and son-in-law, took the grandkids on a tour of North America. While visiting some friends in Spokane, they went for a picnic at Twin Lakes over in Idaho. My daughter really liked the forest and lakes. She looked on her phone to see what property was available. And bought a house on 5 acres near Rathdrum. After closing escrow, they rented the property out on a year lease. They continued their tour of North America. The pandemic hit while they were traveling. When they came back a year later, they found their property gained about a million in value.

I moved from Washington literally everything is more expensive than it was in Washington in 2018 but I make less than I did 20 years ago to do construction for the first time in my life I can’t afford to live all the builders and owners are charging Seattle rates and not paying anything for labor benefits suck here too.

My parents moved from kansas city to boise. The winters are about the same temperatures but unlike KC boise’s winters are more stable, KC winters fluctuate a lot it’s also humid and hot in KC Boise is a dry heat which is much better.

My wife and I want to move to Idaho. As my own State, Washington, has been destroyed. Hopefully, people from California keep their politics in California.

What about the schools? Special education services in the schools? I’m a teacher with young kids and I’d like to move into administration, but we have a son with ASD and need access to quality education. Any thoughts/advice?

Idaho is just not same, native idahoans are being force to sell their farmland and turn into ugly cookie cutter homes, it used to take 20 minutes from Caldwell to Boise now it’s about 45 minutes to an hours, crazy. My family used to work in agriculture in meridian, Eagle, star, and know all of those ranches are gone, (economic growth doesn’t always means great times) some body

Idaho seems like a very beautiful place to visit or live. I think my biggest concern is the lack of diversity. With you moving from California, how does there not being a lot of racial diversity impact your family?
