Welcome sewing friends! Let's Go Sew with Joanne Banko brings you another fun and informational interview. This monthly LIVE show is held on the fourth Monday of each month. My featured guest for May is online influencer and sewing instructor Becky Thompson. I like to call her the sewing "sergeant." Retired from the US Air Force, as a Master Sargent, Becky also has a background in Cybersecurity. Her military training for knowing how to tackle a task, her techie background, and her giving personality make Becky a sought-after educator in the online world. She knows how to both entertain and motivate sewing enthusiasts to "go sew something" and have fun in their own sewing space.

Omg, I love your “Miss Texas”
Sewing machine Becky. Wow, what a fabulous gift. The giver must really appreciate your military past and current sewing posts.

I attended the Houston quilt show for 6 years in a row and took many classes for the week I stayed. I learned plenty from their teachers.

Pocono Sew & Vac in Pennsylvania is a fabulous shop. Machines they sell are great. Their personnel at their shop are the best. I love them. Bought my Brother Dreamweaver Sew/Embroidery and Handi Quilter Sweet 16 from them. I did my research and went tons quilt show where I bought the Dreamweaver. I love this shop.

I love Brother machines. I started with a portable for classes. So, after my
Bernina motor died after 16 years I was so heartbroken. Brother Dreamweaver Sew/Emb had just won an award. I did my research and decided after seeing it at the quilt shows that was the machine I wanted. I absolutely love it.

Thank you for your service Becky. I Always loved sewing since a child. I learned to sew on my own. I was employed by the US Coast Guard in NY at 18 yrs old. I sewed buttons on uniforms etc for the service people.
I always sewed clothing since I got my Singer
In 1968 just after I started working on Governor’s Island, NY. I still have that machine and it works well. All mechanical.
I took home economics in Junior HS. Made a skirt which I cut in the fold. Ugh. A seam down the front afterwards. Skirt tight.
Never made that mistake again. Made many clothing items through the years. Sewed communion dresses for my daughters.
Bought a Brother Dreamweaver about 5 years ago. Absolutely love it. I also bought a Handi Quilter Sweet 16. Love that one too.
Video u tubes are so great.
Brother machines are wonderful. Easy to use. I have a smaller one, (portable) which I got as a gift from my daughter. Loved it. When my Bernina motor died, I got the Brother.

Nice video and interview, but this is why I don't like "zoom"! It sounds sometimes like they are in a tunnel and fades in and out and you don't hear every word that is being said! I am watching the replay on you tube! Thank you for doing this interview!

Repair persons are hard to find. These “fancy”
Machines are not touched by just any repair man.

Thank you SO MUCH! I love your beautiful Featherweight! My husband wants to paint one of mine, and your beautiful machine is really tempting me. I was late to the show, but I thoroughly enjoyed it!
