Why was there no suspicion on the Dibert farmer who “dreamed” the boys’ location? What if he killed them, then felt guilty about it and decided to confess by making up a story of a “prophetic dream” so that he’s not considered guilty? Also, how did the boys even die? It definitely looks like foul play

The bleeps are the most intriguing unsolved mystery of all.

Why are you bleeping words such as "Death" out are a part of life and very natural words. Very weird!!

A theory and a gentle correction. Theory first: Regarding the "The Lost Children of the Alleghenies", it seems fairly obvious that Jacob Dibert, the farmer who allegedly had the "prophetic" dream, and/or his brother-in-law, Harrison Whysong, had prior knowledge of the location of the bodies. No mention is made of the cause of death. To me it is entirely probable that one or both of the men were involved in the death of the children and came forward 14 days after the disappearance to stage the discovery. Conjecture as to some supernatural or metaphysical explanation is unwarranted.
Now to the gentle correction: the plural possessive form of the words "boys" is not "boys's" (or, as you pronounced it "boy-zez" with two syllables) it is simply boys' (pronounced as "boys"--like the plural of boy, one syllable i.e.: boys). The same rule applies for the plural possessive of the word brothers; spelled "brothers' " (not brothers's or pronounced as "brother-zez" with three syllables). It is pronounced the same as the plural for brother, i.e.: brothers). In written form you can tell when this rule applies by noticing the location of the apostrophe. It comes AFTER the plural form of the noun. So the extra syllable is not used.

I find myself extremely thankful that Carolina lived a full life after she woke up. But I can't help but wonder if she was afraid every night going back to sleep. I would be terrified that I was about to go back to sleep for several more years.

"Samuel and Susannah may have "bleep" their children" Is this a Choose Your Own Verb story? Oh, the possibilities!

The healing powers of sleep. ;) All kidding aside, she obviously wasn’t immune to aging. Lack of facial expressions and time out of the sun do wonders for the complexion.

It's amazing she "slept" for 30 years and didn't succumb to bed sores, muscle and tendon atrophy, etc. Must have been interesting feeding her. What a devoted family.

The disturbing part of the sleep paralysis case is the electric shock therapy and other torture methods to wake her.

As to the Pied Piper, there is an entry in the town chronicle in 1384: "It is now 100 years, that our children went away" - indicating how traumatic the event was for the city, so that even 100 years later they were still in mourning.
One theory was not mentioned: that the children were stolen and sold as slaves to work in the nearby mines. One of them was in the Koppen, the hill were the children allegedly disappeared.

So she was 14, went into a 32-year coma, and woke at age 32? That’s some pretty fuzzy math.

"Jacob's Dream" is a song by Alison Krauss and tells the story of the lost boys of the Alleghenies. I posted the lyrics below for anyone interested:
🎼 In the spring of 1856 with the snow still on the ground
Two little boys were lost in the mountains above the town
The father went out hunting the boys had stayed behind
While mother tended to her chores they wandered from her side.
The two had gone to follow him and lost their way instead
By dusk the boys had not been found and fear had turned to dread
Two-hundred men had gathered there to comb the mountain side
The fires were built on the highest peak in hopes they'd see the light.
Oh, mommy and daddy why can't you hear our cries
The day is almost over, soon it will be night
We're so cold and hungry and our feet are tired and sore
We promise not to stray again from our cabin door.
Now Jacob Diverd woke one night from a strange and erie dream
He saw a path between two hills near a dark and swollen stream
He told his wife he saw the boys huddled close beside a log
For two more nights the dream returned this vision sent from God.
Oh, mommy and daddy why can't you hear our cries
The day is almost over, soon it will be night
We're so cold and hungry and our feet are tired and sore
We promise not to stray again from our cabin door.
A thousand men had searched in vain the west side of pop's creek
But Jacob's wife knew of this place and said to travel east
With a guide to take him there, Jacob came upon the scene
And found the boys cold and still beneath the old birch tree.
Oh, mommy and daddy, look past the tears you cry
We're both up in Heaven now, God is by our side
As you lay us down to rest in the presence of the Lord
Know that we will meet you here at Heaven's door.
Oh, mommy and daddy, look past the tears you cry
We're both up in Heaven now, God is by our side
And as you lay us down to rest in the presence of the Lord
Know that we will meet you here at Heaven's door..

Handy that the farmer just happened to “dream” about the location where the boys were burned. I think today he might have had a bit more scrutiny than being hailed as a hero.

And the idea that their father - a Hunter who listened for prey and his dog - never heard two little kids who ran after their dad. Kids of that age are rarely so silent that they don’t make any noise at all or wouldn’t call out to their dad to wait up. His story doesn’t add up which would make him the subject of way more scrutiny today too.

I’ve visited Hamelin where the story of the pied piper is told & retold in various versions but, as one hotel owner put it, it’s a story that’s really good for business.

The "sleeping beauty" case sounds like the bizarre "Sleeping Sickness" plague that afflicted a bunch of young people in the early 20th century that Dr. Oliver Sacks wrote about in his first book, 'Awakenings'. He treated some of the victims of this mysterious illness, still asleep in the late 1960s since the 1920s, with L-dopa. He hypothesized that it was related to Parkinson's, somehow. Freaky stuff!

Electric shock therapy wasn't in use until the 1930's how could they have used it in the 1800's?

Beeping the word killed out makes it sound far more controversial, sinister and problematic, than if you had just kept it in.

I have a feeling that that woman didn’t age as visibly because she wasn’t in the sun, she wasn’t furrowing her brow, smiling or frowning to cause lines. She wasn’t moving her face and had no sun exposure. I have feeling that would probably make your skin look a little younger than it is.

The second story of the lost boys: I find it weird that their father, a hunter, doesn’t hear two small boys following behind him? They never once called out to him? He is use to tracking animals and listening well for them but didn’t hear a 5 and 7 years behind him? Instead of everyone laying blame of the man who had a prophetic dream, maybe they should look at the father who is struggling to feed his family. It was common for children to be killed when they couldn’t feed the family, hence the story f Hansel and gretel. Let’s not automatically assume someone with a dream did it. It’s why so many who really have prophetic dreams don’t speak about them. I’ve had plenty of them so I don’t doubt that man at all. I mean if he killed the kids he’s not gonna turn around and tattle on himself.
