Unfortunately that's not very good for cooperative work, since the "Select" field will be changed in the database, for everyone who is working on a project (people can't use at the same time).. In that case it's better to create different views.
Still, the button solution is great to manage only one view, as working with multiple views makes it very annoying to change and sync all of them (properties shown, and stuff like that).
