Didn't make it back to my FLGS until just now, but they still had 7 copies in stock along with the promos so picked up my copy

Thanks again for the vid!

My wife and I played this a few weeks ago. A Very fun and easy going game. This coming from a knight who was afflicted with the Mad status, which prevented me from completing my starting quest and was then imprisoned before that status wore off...

I had no idea this existed so thanks. I did see that TotAN had a campaign for a new edition just a few weeks ago. Was excited until I saw the artwork, graphic design of the cards etc... were a step backwards from the Z-Man edition. I did grab the update pack to add the new stuff to my copy, but since they mismatched everything I'll also need to sleeve it all now. Oh well.

I don't think this Arthurian Knights looks much better, but I love TotAN and I love Pendragon stuff so I'm sold. I think my local store has it on the shelf too (and I'm guessing there's no pre-order or crowdfunding stuff to worry about..?)

EDIT: Oh yeah, I also think this map is a giant, missed opportunity bummer. Imagine how fantastic, mythic and cool it could have been... all of the art and presentation really.

Just played this 3x tonight. Each weaving a fantastic tale. The writing is phenomenal. This is the game I wish I had as a kid. It will be one that I keep in the collection. The Solo play is seamless. It juuuusssst fits on my tiny table. And who doesn't want to be a knight!?

(Regarding choosing the more nefarious solutions... not all knights were honorable. Can be fun to be the turncoat or a more flawed knight)

I was pretty interested in this game. Especially cause I like Barbarian Prince. But the table footprint is what keeps me from trying to get it.

33:30 Well, the original (1st edition) map is definitely the most gorgeous of all 3, but yes, this newest one could be a bit fancier.

That was a really great comparison. I've been eagerly waiting for you to be able to cover this one but it looks to me like I might enjoy Arabian Nights more as it doesn't have tons of text to read and seems a little more open on how you resolve encounters.

Very cool! I wasn't aware of either version. Thanks.

I like Arabian Nights more just because it can make up some hilarious tales.

Wanted to get my hands on this one but as you mentioned at the beginning there seem to have some supply issues unfortunately! Hoping theres another print run in the future!

Thanks for the in-depth comparison ! Since Arabian Nights is one of my favourites, I pre-ordered Arthurian Knights right away ... but I'm still waiting for my copy. Anyway, over the many years I lost hope that there would ever be a sequel, since rumours about one has been around for a long time. The differences and changes all look good to me, though the longer paragraphs do worry me a bit, as I think it makes it less universally compatible with other players. There will also be a 40th Anniversary Edition of Arabian Nights, and although I own the 2nd edition from 2009, I will probably have to buy that one too, as I like these games just so much. I have a vague feeling that the Anniversary Edition of Arabian Nights will update and fine-tune its texts to better reflect the social progress that has been made since its release, even though because of current political events, that progress seems to drastically revert. Speaking of horror, next stop: Tales of the Lovecraftian Frights ?

I got rid of Arabian Nights. Arthurian Knights looks like it is a big step forward leaning into the best parts of the game and jettisoning everything that got in the way.

It's still not for competitive gamers who expect strategy or a puzzle but it looks perfect for choose your own adventure fans or folks who love the idea of an RPG but with no pencils, DMs or improv.

Thank you for your review and comparison. I had a good laugh because your first encounter reminded me of Monty Python’s Movie… you help the brigand’s to share the loot🤣 well i own the TOTAN and. Ot sure if i want to have both… i really like the freedom of TOTAN but mainly play this game solo… so Arthurian Knights is the way😫 i guess i have to think about it🤪😂 So thank you for this vid. 🙏🏻

I recommend the book Arthur the soldier recently published by Chaosium Inc. I’ve just finished reading it.

🤔 Are there any digital versions around for comparing the word counts of the sections (with the power of computer magic)?
I notice TotAK has 3 columns, whereas TotAN has only 2.

Always temped by a game with the Arthur mythos. I have Shadows over Camelot, which is hard to beat. This one might be fun, though.

I recently bought the RPG "Pendauron". Love arthurian tales, read the medieval german books of Wolfram von Eschenbach (Parzival) and Hartmann von Aue (Erec) who base on the books of french writer Chretien de Troyes.

As a long time Dungeon Dive subscriber and proud t-shirt owner, why oh why did the YT NOT float this video along with ALL my other subscribed channels?! FWIW, my wife and I have really been enjoying Arthurian Knights in co-op. Glad I picked it up from my FLGS. We added Grand Quests straight away.

for those interested in Arthurian gaming, consider Pendragon 6th ed rpg. good stuff.
