I haven't listened to this fully but as much as I appreciate this person, as a trans male many of our stories and voices go unheard because media (be it good or bad) loves to talk about trans women. Would it be possible to have a transmasculine person in a future episode?

Unfortunate to see people having an issue with transgender peoples, here! It's no one's place to restrain how individuals can address the gender dysphoria they struggle with. If they come to regret transitioning like many say they will, then that's on them! If it satisfies them and allows them to be their best selves, great! Why don't you all allow people to find their own path instead of allowing your disgust to act as a cage for people you don't personally understand the struggles of? I'm a big advocate for personal happiness.

Anyway, very intellectual discussion, wonderful that you had Lily here! Such a great collab, you both produce such thought provoking videos.

It is so depressing to see how stuborn and completely unhinged some people are (as is the case with this comment section), they feel intiteled to disprove other people's subjective experiences, while they stick to some unfounded views of the world and take it as the ultimate truth that one can imperically reach. all the while doing little to no research to see how the scientific community really analyses the issue, whether through the lenses of neuroscience, sociology or psychology. and that's not only apparent in the trans debate, the majority of political debates are always treated as a boxing match, and not as argumental exchange.
To any trans person that might be reading this (or anyone who's struggling with gender dismorphia) i hope you always keep fighting for you right to express yourself freely, and never let these sick minded individuals cut through your skin, you may feel the need to enlighten these people about your experience, but a majority of them are only there to bully you and not to geniunly understand how you feel.

Lily seems really confident in herself (love to see it!) Nice interview, you should do more of these.

I’m not sure if you’ll touch on this later in the video but I believe one reason there’s so much pushback to trans men transitioning is the sort of entitlement our conservative society feels to women’s bodies generally

That line "I didn't realize people had gender on purpose" is one of the most relatable things I've ever heard as an agender.

I’m seeing a LOT of transphobic comments on this video and also just a lot of people who loving using the word ‘woke’ for everything and to them I say, please stfu. Let people live their life, let people be happy. There’s no point in wanting to bring people down just because they are different then you. If you do that shit you are just a sad individual.

The modern topic is about what the identity of a human consists of and what the value of once identity and its properties are. What does gender mean and how important is it for the public and for one self.

Aw man, lily's channel link is a dead end. Plus omfg the damn transphobic comments, holly hell can trans people just live in peace. Like transitioning and changing ourselves makes us happy and more healthy both physically and especially mentally.

But anyways love yah trans people and supportive people too! Have a good day/night! Stay safe!

I'm all for people taking the reigns and decide for whatever makes them whole and happy. Probably I'd live out the rest of my entire life feeding my defenseless ego until I reach the point where I can't do it anymore. Well, I guess that explains how I got to this point.

Thanks Sisyphus for the coverage. Trans, like all people, should be respected for their inalienable humanity.

"The most important thing in philosphy is that: whether or not you agree with somebody, you should listen. Intaking as many varied opinions as possible is a burden, but it is the burden of the philospher." -Me, just now.

Lovely talk. I have a geniune question... How can gender norms ever change if the very people who are defying them join the opposite camp (transition)? Isn't it actually reinforcing what a woman/man should do, wear etc?

I loved this discussion. I've enjoyed both your content seperately for ages. I would suggest you talk to an IWP rep to follow up on your final point of discussion, because it is not anywhere near as easy as "just unionise your workplace" and you need the proper knowledge of strategy to do so succesfully. It would be in line with your critique of the practical stagnation of online politics: to do a discussion with a person who helps train union organisers !
