Hi Simple Life Ministries, today's video is about ideas for Sabbath meals. We started with Friday morning breakfast, Friday's lunch, Sabbath breakfast and then Sabbath lunch. We discussed a little about combining different "kinds" of foods. Then we talked about a fruit dish verses a vegetable dish. Finally, we reviewed the importance of finishing the meal with nuts and the fact that there is no need to cook with oils.

Awesome awesome awesommme...I agree with not overeating on Sabbaths, maybe that is why some of us sleep away the afternoon, but how refreshing it is when we go out in nature or when we use the Sabbath afternoon to witness to those in need...Thanks for sharing my sisters..May God continue to bless your ministry Sis Lorna!

I'm so glad to see this! I'm a medical missionary. I make it a point to have simple meals on Sabbath in our home. More than several years ago, my heart was convicted in doing this more than I have my entire life. I enjoy preparing our meals, but for Sabbath, I have prioritized making the meals much more simple. It adds to our Sabbath in a tremendous way. Thank you for the lovely message and thank you for for spreading education and ideas for others. God bless you, Sisters! #subscribed

Hi I think I just stumb;ed on to this video. My first time and its very interesting to hear you share the simplicity of eating 2 or 3 dishes or types of food in a meal. As we get older this is becoming so much more important and relevant to aid digestion. Thanks for sharing.

When I was younger we wouldn’t even light the stove to heat the food. I also remember not feeling loved in church even though I grew up in church. I feel like the day is more important to some of us than love.

Thank you for sharing! I’ve been on a journey to learn how to observe the Sabbath and to keep it holy. I’ve never learned as I was taught that it wasn’t necessary and that it was the law and we are now under grace. I would like to know what time of the day on Friday does the Sabbath begin and what if you are at work at that time and cannot prep a meal?

BON APPETITE! This video was lovely! Thank you Sisters. I grew up SDA in Jamaica and love, love, love roasted breadfruit.
Remember to promote eating FRUITS FIRST in order that we aid the body in proper digestion we do not want to encourage fermentation in the stomach. WATER was not mentioned in this video but hydration is very important as well so we should have our liquids at least half hour before each meal and at least an hour after each meal to allow for proper digestion.
I would love to see HOW these simple meals were prepared especially the homemade HUMMUS which I totally love. I eat 90 % RAW foods, fruits, grains, seeds & Vegetables and cook maybe ONCE per week if at all. Thanks again, I just became a new subscriber today, May 20, 2024
