This is part one of two videos i've filmed at this tiny wild stream / Creek. This was the exploration session finding the swims and fish and figure out what they're wanting to eat. Stick around for the 2nd video coming in the week where i catch twice as many fish on a short 2 hour session.

This is part one of two videos I've filmed at this tiny wild venue. This was the exploration session finding the swims and fish and figure out what they're wanting to eat. Stick around for the 2nd video coming in the week where I catch twice as many fish on a short 2 hour session using spoons and spinners.

Long time brown trout wormer here, 50+ years. Little venues are so much overlooked and some trout grow to a incredible size in them.

Really enjoyed your posting sir. I live in Ipswich Suffolk and many of the brooks and streams around our town are full of some quite phenomenal Brown Trout, often in streams you could almost leap over and few people are aware. I grew up in Devon with only trout and a few course fish to catch in the rivers and being an ordinary lad could not afford fly gear or find a land owner to let me fish legitimately. I used worms and spinners. I was pleased to see you using the French Mepps spinners which are brilliant and stood the test of nearly 80 years. Another good spinner is the Abu Droppen spinner. Even in jet black its a killer. I have watched many of your videos and will give some of the micro lures you use a try. I have to wait until June 16 as the streams around here are really course fish only, although no one seems to try fishing these at all. I do wish people would try some of these small waters where fish have not been continually caught.

what also strikes me is that the water in the UK is so beautifully clear, here in NL the water is a lot more cloudy than with you, you have beautiful spots there!

Great video and thanks for sharing. These small streams are little gems and should be treasured. You never know what fish they contain.

Fantastic vid as usual & loving that you are targeting Trout. I've been s Fly Fisherman for over 40 years. Try as low weight Fly Rod maybe a 3 Weight, you'll be Hooked (Excuse the Pun) can I just add if you're going to land by hand that you set them first as very delicate Fish and prevents cross contamination etc. Keep up the great work Chris 👍🏻

Here I am. Whacking it in the description 😂😂😂😂
Nice session there - some really nice trout in that stream. There's a few small streams near me I'm gonna start walking up soon. I've already spotted trout in them so fingers crossed.

I have caught wild trout in the tiniest of streams North Wales, some narrow enough to step over, early 1960 s ! Used any insect etc from under nearby stones as bait ! Never forgotten after all this time !

In the past trout could also be caught in the Dutch waters, but unfortunately it died out at the time due to poisoning, which is a pity because they are such beautiful fish, so unfortunately we do not catch them here anymore, beautiful video Chris.👍

Wow Chris, did you get frost bite walking in that cold water? Nail varnish on the big toes, my daughters used to do that to mine 😂😂😂. Great Brown Trout and very dark, awesome little video mate . Why is the top of your left ear stuck under you cap?😂😂😂👏. Stay safe mate all the best from Downunder, say hi to Dom and his mate Nathan 😎🤗😂😂😂😂

Here in the Rocky Mountains of the U.S. the brown (imported into my particular piece of the Rocky Mountains around 1900) is a major game fish species of the mountain streams and creeks, primarily targeted by fly fishermen.

I've seldom had luck, because I prefer spoons and spinners. But when I am lucky, the brown is a very feisty fighter, and a delightfully beautiful catch with marvelous color.

Love the video, a good trick with trout fishing is always Wade upstream, keep it up !!

Flies are by far the best. A good method to use them with a spinning rod is just using a nymph or wet fly with a split shot or two. Or a weighted nymph under a small waggler

When reeling, go in between medium and slow rotations. Gives them chance to bite hard and keeps interest. I found that method works. Might help 😁

Cool vid. Brave feet 🦶 all the best from Ireland. Get a little fly rod. It’s tricky but a lot of fun for sure.
