The curly tail grub is probably one of the best lures for ultralight fishing. And in today's video, I take it fishing at a river to see what it can catch. I was able to catch plenty of fish including my personal best smallmouth bass!

I hope you all enjoy this video! be sure to like, comment, and subscribe for more content!

You’re off to a good start so I’ll be joining your adventures. I expect that in my 70’s I can still enjoy learning. Curly tail on my shopping list tomorrow.

Dude I just gotta say, you are an inspiration for me! I’m 18 and up to now my recreation has just been video games in my basement. But a friend recently took me fishing and I’ve loved fishing ever since. I got my own tackle box! Rod, line, baits and lures, and just last weekend I finally caught my first fish ever! And watching your videos, seeing another young person with a fishing hobby just brightens my day ❤

I switched to this setup and have been catching fish like crazy!! I’ve been using all types of others lures prior and never had luck for months. Moment I casted out with the curly tail jig I was slaying the pond. Just wanted to come back and say Thankyou!!

Agreed! White, christmas color, or pink always produce. The most underated lure but so effective!

Yessir! I have been smashing fish with 1/8 oz road runner and 2 inch white grub for more than 30 years, same setup. Its my go too if fish wont bite or if i just want to not waste time casting, get straight to catching. Nice job kid.

Looks like a lot of fun. I am an old guy, I am starting to get into fishing a bit more seriously. I mean I don't take it serious but basically trying to be better. It is so much fun and relaxing/tense. Cheers to you.

i love the white curly tail grubs. They have caught me the most fish this year. I have caught like 3 LMBs and 2 perch off the of them.

White is a really good color in shallower water but weirdly in deep water it loses it's color especially in stained water so in deeper water darker colors like, black, blue and purple generally work better and pink can be money sometimes as well.

I recently got some little Senko type worms, Bass Pro brand, that would be awesome in that creek. You could put them on a Ned rig head, Texas rig them, wacky rig them or drop shot them.
I grew up fishin' on the beach and bays in Florida and bigger curly tail grubs are a classic lure for lots of fish. We use lots of 3 to 4 inch grubs with 1/8 or 1/4 oz heads. And of course there are a bazillion different tails you can put on jig heads. You might enjoy Z Man tails, they're the toughest and they float without weight, so they sink slower. They have creature baits and Ned rigs that would rule that creek.
Cool video.
