Returning to Australia for Vivid LIVE in 2023, master singer-songwriter José González celebrated the 20th anniversary of the album that launched him, 2003’s indie folk classic, Veneer. A sublime take on the singer-songwriter sound, Veneer is more than just a classic of introspective folk pop – it’s become part of the fabric of modern life.

To celebrate the anniversary of his breakthrough record, the virtuoso guitarist returned to the Sydney Opera House for three Australian exclusive solo shows, performing the songs from Veneer – and more than a few other classics.

J'ai découvert José González il y a 18 ans avec son album In Our Nature. Ce qui m'a poussé à l'acheter, c'est le morceau "Cycling Trivialities". Ce chanteur dégage une grande sérénité, avec des sons bruts, et même lorsqu'il double sa voix, cela ne lui rend pas justice. Sa voix seule, accompagnée simplement de sa guitare, suffit amplement. Pas besoin d'effets ! L'ambiance est calme et émotionnelle, alliant intimité et nostalgie, mais dynamisme, rythme. Son style, riche de diverses influences, est indescriptible, il s'écoute. Il a créé un résultat unique et magnifique. Merci José González ! Je vais acheter ton dernier Album! Ne change pas!

Saw him play Swedish American Music Hall (San Francisco) in 2006 with about 75 people. Was blown away with the sound he created as a soloist. Knew right then he'd go big so it's awesome to see him play Sydney Opera 20 years later!!!

This is the first time Im listening to this artist. The name reminds of a boss with the company I used to work for. I believe his background would be Mexican.
He seems a fine performer, song writer and acoustic guitarist. Easy listening n relaxing 👏
