Can we talk about how actual voice acting, like what Steve Carell does for Gru or like literally any character Alan Tudyk does, is like a dying art. Like my family used to be so impressed with me because I could figure out voice actors even when they didn’t sound like themselves, without seeing the credits. Now it’s like they don’t even have to voice act. You just know what already famous celeb it is because they just use their normal voice, and end up getting paid more than the actual voice actors who have been forced into side character roles. Steve Carrell actually studied and worked on Gru with his kids. He did like a bunch of accents to see which one they thought was the most funny and that’s what he ended up using. It’s sad that approach is becoming obsolete.

That's painfully true to life, unfortunately. I worked in an elementary school for four years and you wouldn't believe the number of staff there who clearly hated children. It was just like, Debbie, you don't _have_ to work in a school cafeteria. You can do the same damn thing you're doing at Walmart.

As someone who was a huge The Berenstain Bears fan in the 90s, owning nearly every book, watched the show, etc, I can attest that Alex's recollection of that particular book is 100% EXACTLY what happened. 😂

Part of the reason that this movie got so popular is that it isnt just for kids. It has SO MANY adult jokes or moments that only adults will understand, but was still engaging enough to entertain kids.

Don’t you dare insult Shrek. It is one of the best film franchises (ignoring Shrek the third), with a beautiful, and mature story of love and growth behind the actually good humor, amazing music choices, and hilarious characters
