EPIC Environments Asset Bundle -- Best Unreal Humble Yet?

The Unreal Engine Mega Pack is a huge collection of high quality 3d environment assets.

This pack from Hivemind contains thousands of 3D objects and blueprints for creating a wide variety of maps, including Viking, Medieval, Harbours, Churches, Houses and more. There are a variety of Nanite packs as well containing incredibly high detail objects.

All of the assets in this bundle are redeemed directly on the Unreal Engine marketplace using the Epic Game Launcher.

Interesting and good to know about, but a bit high poly for my tastes. It seems like in Unreal land they really like huge filesizes and super high resolutions/polycount and ultra-realism.

Besides that though, it seems annoying to mass export. I've been using Asset Inventory for Unity, and while not perfect, it gets everything in one searchable place. I've finally been getting things collected and downloaded, and getting it in there sounds like a lot of extra manual effort compared to other bundles.

Have you made a video about the current Humble Bundle of "The complete Blender 3D modelling online courste megabundle"?
I've seen they have constantly been resetting the end date. Because I already thought I missed out a few times, but it's still there. But I don't know if it is any good.

This is fantastic, I've gotten to the point now, where I am less inclined to buy a bundle if it is not redeemable said store. It's just so much easier to have things in one place. And store redeem codes are definitely the way forward. Really impressed that a this is actually working like intended - I mean we are talking about a wealthy AAA company that has some some of the worst launcher, lacking features and usability out there.

When you look at the level of detail in the buildings and textures, I think sidearm studios bundle was better. But what I think is great about this bundle are the prop packs, not the buildings.

I wouldn't go so far as to say this is the best Humble deal. There are fewer packs on offer, and it's a mix of realistic and stylized assets. You're probably going to end up tossing half of these packs unless you're willing to manually retexture many of the assets. At the same time, Humble Bundles are all a big cost savings compared to buying anything on the Epic Marketplace, even when compared to the best direct Epic sales.

As far as I can remember, past Humble Bundles have all offered redemption codes, but only one sale offered direct redemptions through the library. It's usually through a third-party, which can take a couple days to show up.

Since you redeem these on EGS, wouldn't you be subject to the stores terms of service? Meaning you can't (legally) export them to a different engine?

Thanks for the info, Mike. I always allocate a few bucks to you when buying these Humble Bundles. However, it would be nice if you could do a bit more detailed overviews of the assets in these kind of bundles in order for us to make a better informed decision. I mean like less rush, more closeups on the assets and their sides to properly see them not from afar (i.e. from the FPS perspective) etc. If the assets are configurable, play with their configs to see the possible results. I really wish they were not nanite, nanite is very performance heavy. It drops my fps by like 60% in the levels in my game

Those environments look cool, but at the end of the day, your game will looks like everyone else's, i'd rather buy some "under the hood" assets that make your life easier
