Well one issue I see is the literacy as many societies are simply set up in a way where reading is not really as much of a tool to the societie''s structure. It seems to be more if a measure of a tool that while often dies have a strong corelation isn't an exact element of standard of living. For example most if Subsaharan Africa didn't have writing until very recently so structured their society using other methods. Things like life expectancy or disease prevelence though seem more of a pretty strong indicator of as being alive or disease free is a pretty universal human want and need.

Per capita GDP now replaced by GNI per capita to include remittances? That correct, cheers?

Also per capita wealth can be a bit misleading due to differing levels of inflation.
