Totino-Grace Boys Basketball Wins First State Championship

The Totino-Grace boys basketball saved its best for last, scoring the last nine points to beat DeLaSalle 50-44 in the state class AAA championship game. After TG started the game with a 7-0 lead, DeLaSalle finished the first half with a 29-26 lead. They had the lead for much of the second half, but after Nasir Whitlock hit a three to give the Islanders a 44-41 lead, they were held scoreless the rest of the way. Taison Chatman scored 15 points to lead Totino-Grace, with Ahjany Lee scoring 14 and Patrick Bath 10. Whitlock had 18 to lead DeLaSalle.
