I love how there is no sound. No talking. It's mesmerizing AND informative. I'm building mine this weekend. Thanks for making this "silent film." :)

That's sweet. Nicely done. In the process of building mine. Bought a couple things you used off your affiliate links.
Thanks. 🙂

Very cool. I built something similar for my son and daughter in law to keep their fridge and 2 chest freezers running when PG&E goes down again. I used 8 cells for 560 amp hours, 7200 watt hours. I went with 12 volts because I had a lot of spare parts, heavy cable and new components laying around (I buy 2 of everything!). It has an onboard 30 amp mppt solar, 3000 watt inverter, 75 amp onboard lithium smart charger that can be powered up with his Honda eu2000i generator. The Daly BMS is 250 amps. The big surprise was watching the Renogy battery monitor recalculate the time left for charging and discharging the battery. I recall putting 1400 watts into the inverter and seeing about 4 hours left in the batteries. Unplug the load and watch it recalculate the charge time as the solar panel is feeding it.

You do neat work! But in 60+ years of building things, I cannot stand wearing vinyl or rubber gloves! I added up the actual current parts cost in mine, close to $3000, but I bought the batteries here in Calif and that was $1500 of it. And then there was $50, 000 in my engineering consulting fee, welding and assembly time.

Nice build, my only arguments are : Battery compression and mounting high current devices on a thin nylon tie down. I used the same process for a 100ah 12v battery build. While it’s convenient and practical, it makes me nervous. I think using corner guards and a metal bands would offer the recommended 12 pounds of compression and a better choice for BMS mount. Hindsight is 20/20.
