Just FYI,
The headlamp only provides 175 lm when you use NiMH batteries. - MAX 6h MIN 30h
However, the lumen is increased to 300 lm when you use Alkaline batteries. - MAX 30h MIN 175h

I think it's little bit mislead marketing since people would expected to get 300 lm from NiMH but you only get 175 lm.
You can find the accurate detail about this headlamp on the internet. Basically, you will get full performance from this headlamp from Alkaline batteries.
It also take 4-5 hrs to recharge its NiMH batteries.

IPX means the lamp will survive immersion in water for a length of time BUT the battery terminals will corrode if not dried and WD40 sprayed on

I have never gotten mine to recharge. I plug it in with the cord that came with it. Powers up for a few seconds, then flashes red. Won't turn on, I assume batteries are totally dead. Is there a trick to getting it to recharge?

I’ve read 150h but I find that pretty unrealistic

How do you open it to access the batteries

in reality it is not waterproof. it doesn't fit to IPX8 standard.
