After several days of hearings for Supreme Court Nominee Neil Gorsuch, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer announced plans to filibuster his nomination. Many Democrats remain frustrated by the Senate’s refusal to move forward on President Obama’s nominee Merrick Garland last year. Plus, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is planning to skip a NATO meeting next month and will instead attend high-level meetings in Moscow in May. POLITICO’s Michael Crowley questions the optics of the trip considering the ongoing questions about the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia. Also: President Trump meets with the Congressional Black Caucus, and the White House installs top aides as cabinet agencies.

If they filibuster gorsuch, it is clearly just out of spite. He is clearly insanely qualified and I was happy with his responses during the hearings, he seems very professional and ready to vote on constitutional grounds rather than party lines. I'm barely a democrat and I'll make it a point to definitely no longer be registered as one if the democrats decide to do so.
