Learn about inferential statistics and how they differ from descriptive statistics in this plain-language tutorial, packed with practical examples.

We examine the most common inferential tests, such as t-tests, ANOVA, chi-square, correlation, and regression, giving clear practical examples of their use. We also talk about the importance of understanding the distinction between correlation and causation, and how to choose the right statistical test for your data.

Thanks so much! I'm just starting my PhD this year and I'm going to use a quantitative approach. I've been learning statistics since my undergrad days, but I never really got the hang of it. This video has made inferential statistics so much clearer for me!

I have been watching the video lectures. These are amazing. Moreover, video lectures related to econometric models may please be uploaded.

I wanted to understand below - this is very important for me please help!

1. In a month, 4200 guests stayed in a hotel, only 200 received a feedback survey and 20 guests said they experienced Slow Check-In on arrival. If all 4200 guests would have received feedback survey, how many would have shared the similar feedback of Slow Check-in experience ?

My answer is,
200 =20 then
4200 = X, which is
X = 4200 x 20 divide by 200
X = 420 meaning if 4200 guests would have received the survey 420 would have shared an experience of slow check-in on arrival.

If the above answer is Right then What is this method termed/called in Quantitative Analysis ? and How can I prove this is correct prediction of the population using Inferential Statistics or Hypothesis test or any recommended options

Great video, thank you for the explanation.
What if you need to assess the relationship between a numerical variable and a categorical variable. What statistical method should be followed?

I have been using divominer for past few years for all my quantitative content analysis. I was a beginner and had a hard time learning the mechanisms and theory. But divominer came across as a very simple to use tool. It covers end-to-end content analysis with advanced statistical analysis features.

could you plz advice a book for study more about research methods!

Great video👍.
But shouldn't you not include regression analytics there, as it is not inferential but more predictive?

Stop doing your hands that way. You are a grown up now. You have the full right and rite to Grow, Order, and Discipline yourself. What you are doing could lead to disfigurement and abnormal bone transformation. Dont you understand that the skeletal muscles take care of cardiac and smooth muscles? Be wise, little brother of Data Science and Machine Learning.

Thank you, but you talk with your hands which can be a little distractive.
