know what my favorite thing about Penn and Teller is? They live for entertainment. make them the butt of the joke, make them dance, make them look silly for your act. if it gets a laugh or a smile, they're all for it.

I can only deduce that the egg was real from the start, and the handkerchief only appeared to be stuffed into the egg, thus selling the trick.

my guess, at 2:31, he grabs and conceals a REAL egg in his hand while presenting an especially thin bandana (of which will fold into a very small size) hanging out of his closed, seemingly "empty" hand. it is possible there is something sticky prepared on one end of the bandana to the back of the egg to make things easier, but if not, even more impressive handwork. i noticed that he's very careful to never let go of a grip near the bandana, because it's not actually safely inside the egg

when he pushes the bandana into his hand, he pushes it towards the back of the egg where he can bunch the entire bandana up into a small ball as to appear like it has been stuffed into the egg by 3:34 where his index finger is holding a bunched up bandana.

the egg is real the entire time. he never displayed how strong it was, he only appeared to pull the ribbon out of a "hole" on the back, which i believe he is artifically presenting as being pulled out of some kind of hole, when he is actually unfolding it from the pinched bunch it in order to make it appear like it is being stuffed inside of something, then seemingly pulling it "out" of the egg, which is really just unbunching the ribbon straight.

at the end, he simply cracks the egg into the cup, which surprises those who were convinced that the egg was plastic just because he said so.

Great trick. My deduction is that it is a eggshell like structure that has two parts. A sealed one with egg insides (at the bottom) and another empty with a hole that he puts the cloth in at the top.
So at the end with the egg reveal, you can see that the yolk comes out runny. But yolks are proper when you crack an egg, they are not blended in the white. Hence he "stuffed" the half with egg insides from a real egg. But he also "dumped" the evidence in the glass. Hence why he said yes it is real egg in the glass, BUT theres also the fake part too!
