I am in California got licensed 9/2020. I have closed 32 loans as of 2022. It’s very important to have a good support system when you are getting started I was fortunate to have an amazing mentor and have close friends in the industry to feed me Refferals. Keep on pressing through and don’t give up it takes time but you will get there 😊

I love how transparent you are! It's not always raining deals and money. It's super hard and I thought I was the only one struggling. Coming out of my first year and it was not at all how I was hoping it was. Good luck to you!

I hope a financial institution sees this video and the “ down to earth” in you and brings you on their team . Never give up and don’t let anyone encourage you to .

Thanks for being so real in this video.
I was an MLO for a few months with leads provided then got laid off and was out of work for awhile, I landed another job in a call center for a lending company and recently lost that, the mortgage industry isn’t too secure right now.

Hey Sandra!! Have you thought about being a mortgage processor for now? It would be a steady income and you can transition back into sales when things pick up again. Thanks for making this video. You are not alone! You have what it takes to be very successful in this business so keep your positive mindset knowing it will improve and you will be ready when the time is right!

I recently spoke with a realtor and asked him how he supplements his income when he is not selling houses and he told me that he works as a substitute teacher. Subs can pick and chose when they work. I work as a caregiver during slow times a few days a week and keep my weekends open so I can scout out open houses and create leads for myself. Hope this helps

This was very informative. Thank you for your genuine honesty. I wish the best! You have an excellent disposition & I know eventually you will do well as an mlo.

Wow 😢 I’m sorry about you experience thus far. I’m currently studying for my license 5/23 and I’m trying to stay hopeful that the market will turn around and thrive again. I will keep my 9-5 job until I can achieve a livable income as a MLO. Thank you for sharing ❤ keep pushing forward sis.

I'm ready to take my exam and license in Texas. I've been working with a mortgage company (remote) but having to literally train myself with only online videos and zero guidance (just weekly video meetings that do not help) is counterproductive for me. I either find another mortgage company or broker to train me as an LOA then get my license or I'm just going to have to go back to work in my previous industry. Got to make my move with a quickness. Money done dried out.

Hey! I just found your page. Thanks for your transparency. I am a Insurance Claims Adjuster as well and was looking into MLO field. Thanks for your transparency! I’m still doing my own research and hoping to make a career out of it eventually.

I really appreciate this video because I have been thinking about getting licensed as an loan officer because I do have some mortgage experience from working in multiple areas of banking. The issue I have is alot of these youtubers are glamorizing this loan officer or originator positions instead of being honest. Leaping in can honestly hurt you financially. I'm glad I came across this video as I was making a final decision. I need to put more thought into it.

Best of luck out there! I am also an FL broker too! I started this past November and got no deal lol... I have about 3 to 5 realtors that I am pretty tight with and I have gotten no deals from them as well. The struggle is real! I think like you said keeping another job is crucial, I am still keeping my 9-5 job until I see steady income from being a LO. hopefully we both get real busy that we do this full time

Have you heard of the Mortgage Marketing Animals podcast? They seem to have great success stories and share tips on getting leads and closing deals.
