I can't do this where I live because we get rain and snow. A 5 gallon bucket is a joke. I currently have one house downspout draining into two 55 gallon dry wells that are 10' apart from one another. During a hard rain, they fill up in no time and then they back up and we're right back to square one with water in the basement. This spring I have to dig every thing up and put hard pipe all the way out to the side of my property.

Hello Caleb. Thank you for all the all the great videos you have posted. They are very informative. I am considering finishing up my basement but I have a couple concerns. I was hoping you maybe able to give me some direction to these concerns. I have some long cracks on the concrete slab that it seems like they got a little bit bigger after this winter. So I'm worried if I put tile or laminate floor with time the concrete will mess up the finish floor The other concern is that I have water come into the basement talking to my neighbors they say is from the water table. I do have a water sump. But I'm worried about black mold once I close up the walls. Should I get like a city inspector to take a look at these things? Or should I go somewhere else? Any tips will help. Thank you!

are you sure this is to code where you are? I dont know of many places that would allow this. Its usually tied into a weeper system or into a sump.
