Silent T and D at the End of Words

preview_player
Показать описание
Learn when the letters/sounds t and d are removed at the end of words. When are the t and d sounds silent at the end of words. I also talk about the glottal stop at the end of words and how to pronounce it.

Removing /t/ and /d/ isn't vital to use in your own speech, however, it's very useful for your listening comprehension. :)

// IMPORTANT

I teach using just one of many accents in the world. Please only learn it if you like it and if you are interested in learning it. I do not believe there is one “correct” accent or manner of pronunciation and I fully encourage EFL/ESL learners to expose themselves to as many varieties of English around the world to become accustomed to the beautiful variations of this world language. I focus mostly on teaching “Modern RP” (I may just say “RP” in my older videos, but to clarify, I do specifically mean “Modern RP”), however, you will hear a lovely little Yorkshire twang to my accent from time to time too. Please LOVE and BE PROUD of your accent. After all, it is part of your identity and makes you unique. 💚

Hello!
Even though gratitude does not pay the bills, I really want you to know that I am grateful. Thank you Emma! Thank you for your 2 YouTube channels and those podcasts.
My English is very good, I don't need an English teacher, but sometimes I learn some things I didn't know thanks to your videos /podcasts.
Thank you! Well done!

Emma I dunno why n how but whenever I see ur videos, I just become extremely happy. You videos tend to make me smile alot. It's probably coz I start felling like I can do this (british accent), or maybe because I start felling like a Britisher whenever I watch your videos.

Hi, Emma! I like the way you speak English.
Also, the lesson in this video was fruitful.
Would you please make a video about using
affricate sounds and labiodental sounds,
plosive sounds, labiodental fricative sound?

It happens naturally. I noticed that I do it very often even in phrases like inside me, all right, don't etc. Speaking like this is easier and more fluent and understanding different accents is getting better. And I'm not stuck in it any time I can change my type of pronunciation and that delivers.)

Hello dear,
I am too happy to find you, pretty faced tender mouthed.I am boastful that I teach British English according to Oxford dictionary phonetic transcription I really think that I utter as you do , but this is the first time I found such an English person who goes too fast as you do . that causes a bit difficult to be understood.
At the end I say to you thank you at any rate my angel about all what you do.
Yours sincerely.

Your videos are like a shot of energy (similar to Redbull) they are necessary to watch in little doses because the rhythm is so high that can be exhausting, seriously great work, greetings.
