I was with you up until the comment regarding pythons.
I live in south Florida.
Pythons have absolutely wrecked the Everglades.
I've read articles in the local newspapers that described how much native wildlife is just gone.
The state of Florida actually pays people to go out and catch them.

I’m 70 years old. When I was in my late teens I worked in a Pet Store in the fish department. I’m also a lifetime angler. I wouldn’t in a thousand years have thought that Snakeheads and Clown Knives would have become the problem that they are.
There are several others as well. What a shame that people would have thrown them into the waterways on the East coast.
I love fishing for Bass, Crappie and Trout (catch and Release).

Rats and mongoose were introduced to Hawaii and it's been devastating to their ecosystem and endangering a lot of native species. It's not always about what benefits humans, we have and do see habitat loss and imbalances in ecosystems when invasive species are introduced in areas they otherwise would not have gotten to.

Of course over the natural course of life and evolution these same kinds of things would have happened. But as humans we DO shape and affect our environment a lot and in really negative, drastic and fast changing ways. The issue is humans not necessarily the actual species of plant or animal that found a new home.

"There's no such thing as an invasive species! they're just a species that... invades..."

I always thought of invasive species as animals that humans bring to a place they don't belong. If the animals bring themself there then that's just them migrating to get into a new niche and likely becoming a natural apex predator there.

I used to think it was cruel to keep cats inside. I’ve totally flipped on the belief over the years. Little murder machines.

In my country, most of the native freshwater fish species is threatened by red tail catfish that can't stop eating (they got into the river after the aquarium containing them broke because of flood). Not only that, there is also a sighting of them have develop a taste for monkey and bird

There was tons of horned lizards in central Texas until the fire ants came and ate all their eggs I could find 7 to 10 every day after school

Pythons have wiped out nearly every other animal in the everglades, but the dude throws shade at my cat.

It’s doesn’t have to just affect agriculture. The pine beetles in Alaska have decimated the black spruce. Which in turn is causing insane wild fires. Mainly on large swaths of land no humans live on or have even hardly explored.

Barn cats are still pretty useful, but if you live in the suburbs or in urban areas and can't contain your cat to your own yard, just keep it indoors please.

A Polish guy living in USA brought to Poland up to 1000 snap turtles in 90's. Now you can loose your foot swimming in your local lake. Last week somebody did catch one of them.

Humans are actually the best example of an invasive species...we are practically everywhere in the world even Antarctica!

I mean we humans are also invasive species in a sense.
