Good tips. I'd also like to add that the most effective first line of defence that stops intruders is a simple 1.2m fence with closed gates. Most would be thieves don't want to run the risk of tackling a dog, and they also don't want to get cut off from having a quick escape route if they're about to get caught and need to run away fast. A fence with a closed gate that could contain a dog suggests a dog might be present somewhere on the property even if it's not currently in the front yard; and if a gate gets shut behind them once they're in the yard, having to open it or jump the fence might slow them down enough to get caught, so they'll usually move on down the street to an easier house that doesn't have a fence.

Aside from the little things as mentioned, the most commonly stolen property are vehicles and tools, so maybe a future video to make could be tips on how to make carports, garages, and sheds less inviting for crooks. Most roller doors and metal shed doors, especially older ones and cheap ones, are too easy to break into without additional locks of some sort being added.
