3 Ways To Secure Your Home | BAER Solutions

"It's not yours if you can't defend it." That was something I heard from a senior guy in my unit and it always stuck with me. With that in mind, what are some basic things you can do around your house to secure your home to provide some peace of mind? Outside of a security system... lighting, blinds, and vantage points. I actually had to clear my house after my 71 year old mother said she herd something downstairs...she has an inlaw apartment above my garage...it really made me think about how i really didnt know the correct way to do it! Im now signed up for 3 cqb classes. Stay armed everyone and get training not only for you but for your loved ones.

My mom used to pick on my dad because he used to keep total awareness all the time about lighting, door locks, keeping the interior of the house not visible while keeping visibility of the outside, even driving around the house before parking when coming home late and always keeping us moving fast when going in (open garage, no fence) and always reminding us to be aware of who and what was around us. He was not in law enforcement not of military background but single hand he stopped at least 5 attempted breaks in and multiple carjackers in the neighborhood with his S&W .38 special. I steel keep his lessons close to my heart and do the exact same. Awareness is key. THANKS for this video. Kudos from Panama,

Dirty Civilian channel sent me here. In the 1980s my dad taught me the blinds trick and I've done it ever since. Mr Drew must be a good dad as well.

I already own way too many flashlights and angle my blinds to the outside, but what I need to do is rehearse the layout of my home and how I would clear it safely. My biggest takeaway from the Dirty Civilian video was to keep my muzzle pointed down to help reduce the chance of friendly fire and to increase visibility. I’m a life long door and window installer who also attempts training myself. The lights and blinds thing I’ve been doing for years. Keep in mind not all blinds close as far as others and I’ve seen some installed poorly that give a clear view through the side (installed extended away from window) Great info Thanks for sharing your knowledge
