Pastor, if ever I need to hear bad news about myself, I’m glad to hear it from you. For I am a poor miserable sinner.

Ha! Last sunday our message was, Sometimes we are the Pharisee, sometimes we are the tax collector, sometimes we are the tax collector praying "I thank you Lord I am not like the Pharisee"..., alternating week to week.

Yes yes because to have to enter into the court is because you sinned in the first place. Therefore our stance should always be Lord God have mercy on me humility gives freedom. Beautiful you are a good tool/servant

It’s always struck me in this parable that the Pharisee even implicitly makes an appeal to the grace of God in building his case for his own righteousness. The fact that he’s thanking God that “he’s not like other men” I think reveals that he is aware that his own works can in some way be traced back to the agency or grace of God ultimately or else he wouldn’t be thanking God for his superior moral character. Instead he would be saying something like, “Look, God how am not like other men.”

Question of a reformed/charismatic/ protestant to the person in the accident" Have you made the Lord Jesus your Lord and Saviour?" A confessional lutheran " Have you been baptized? " Warms my heart😊

Or you can turn to Orthodoxy and a church that heals rather than the hedrodox who enjoy condemning.
