I have had the pleasure to have spent time with Allan back in the mid 90s I was racing a car on dirt circuit when I was 15 and Allan also had a car there... and this 1 day i was at home i kept getting water in the sump I even changed head gasket and still didn't fix it... so I called around and managed to get Allans number.. i called him up and said this thing has me beat... his reply was...there is this tiny little Welsh plug that you can't see it's hidden behind the cam gear in the block I reckon that's rusted through... ok thanks I'll go have a look...sure enough that was it....nobody knows those sorts of things without being there with car in front of I have the absolute most respect for him... I even think he sort of sent me in a similar direction to him..

I think Alan was always a good mechanic. Forty years of experience have made him into a great mechanic.
His thought process is so good and with that experience he just gets it.

Allan Gray what a great mechanic! I too have the ultimate respect for the man and I'm from California. I will have to send him another "Ask Allan" question about Toyotas.
