Using outboard gear as a plugin in Pro Tools

Pro Tools makes using outboard gear easy. This is a good way to practice using compressors and EQs in the mix or tracking. Studio E has two Empirical Lab Distressors, a Universal Audio 1176 clone, and a Warm Audio Pultec-style EQ. Each of these pieces can be used in tracking or mixdown. If you're not familiar enough to use in tracking, open a practice Pro Tools session and start trying things out.

Excellent explanation on how to use outboard gear as a plug-in. Exactly what I was looking for.

Finally I start to understand using outboards mixwise. It is funny that such simple thing can be hard to understand until the answer is found. The studio life is very simple... when knowing all about it.

Hi I'm in a bit of a pickle lol. I have some hardware gear. I was fine with my Clarett 8pre until I purchased more gear, so I purchase a Focusrite Mkii non Dynamic . Now my issue is I can't get it to work in Protools. I set the Clarett as ADAT and get no sound. I tried setting up a patch bay which my brain will not wrap around the concept yet. Do you have any video explaining how to get things flowing with Protools because there isn't any out here.

How do I get my hardware settings on multiple tracks . Do I have to make a print track and record each line separately and if so how do you create a proper print track. Or is there an overall easier way to apply your hardware to all lines of recordings
