Thanks for sharing! But it is funny when Bobbie tell you about spacing you shut him down completely, now that Chris telling you your mindset is changed. 😮😂

I did something similar at my house, remove the green shrubs and replace them with Surinam cherry, Achacha, Araza, Cherry of Rio Grande. Agree even if they only produce a little, it is better than nothing produce by other trees/shrubs.

🎯🎯this is how I’m set up, 10’ on center a few feet off the fence line, so you still have some yard but ultimately a mango hedge around the perimeter of the yard and beds up against the house and street.

Hey every commenter here is 100% correct for their own needs. But I’d like to add most commenters in relation to hedges are probably thinking about a single hedge as is the one along Chris’s fence. (Not really a hedge) But nobody is visualizing here rows of hedges which would need creative solutions for multiple rows. What Cris has there is not a real mango hedge. She planted a bunch of seeds along the fence to see if in the future she might discover a new better variety when the trees would finally fruit. She spaced nothing. It’s a hodgepodge of seedlings with zero spacing. They have never even been trimmed like a hedge with a straight side or top. If you have one real hedge to show on a video there should be numerous discussions about overcoming in innovative ways of how to keep the rows very productive. In April or May I’ll invite Paul over to video my insanely dense 5 year old hedges and we’ll all see how much if any fruit they have produced. Close beyond believe are 3 rows of Orange Sherbet-Sugar Loaf and Lemon Zest. Close includes 2 dimensions not one. Super close one after the other and side by side. At the end of this season they will be trimmed again into well defined hedges and rows and tops trimmed at an angle for more sun but probably won’t produce for 2 years after that. We will watch and learn. Remember you can’t be a doctor without patients!!!!

Amazing! I think that high density might be easier when the trees are trained since they're small. Maybe you could create a hedge with avocados too! or mangos and avocados and else. Amazing idea! :D

Why are you against 10ft apart if it works for individuals??

This guy looking younger and younger, maybe all the fruits eating or Moose is coming back from the dead 😊. Cool, keep stacking them trees on top of each others, this is what I do best.

Thanks for discussing hedges. I have a hedge of avocados of all heavy producers. Sure I might not get as much fruit but I will get lots of variety.

one key point i take away, is she indicated there should be no larger trees overshadowing the hedge. They should get equal and ample light.

When Chris moved in, she had a mango orchard with nature trees. 🤔So the 20 ft spacing was inherited.

Another excellent video, Thank you Paul. 10 feet apart from trunk to trunk I presume

Dense hedging with just mangos might not be a good idea simply because they may become a host for a lot of pests

Although it's not a bad idea in Florida because mango trees are still pretty rare there

To space mango 🥭 cowboy 🤠
A suggestion - do videos on individual varieties. You have done a good number, but so many more untouched. Would make it easier to find information on an individual variety.
