Windows actually has a hidden easter egg where your pc stops working if you delete system32

“Please don’t use it to mess with someone else’s computer”
That stopped absolutely nobody

Alternatively, on Windows 11 and probably also Windows 10, you can run an administrator Powershell window and type "wininit" (without quotes obv) and it will BSOD

Edit: Ending the process "DCOM Service Provider" in Task Manager also causes a BSOD

What’s kinda cool is that the error code is 0xDEADDEAD

Back in the 4th grade, we had an Apple II in our class and if you mashed the right amount of keys together, the computer would freak out on the screen.

Also: if you're playing a game on Windows and it's running slowly you can press alt+f4 to free up more RAM

This could be useful if someone were playing coolmathsgames instead of doing school work

At school i used to find a BSOD image from google images and set the browser to full screen. Works just as well.

"To do this, we need to edit some of the regis-" Me: 'Aight, imma head out."

my 4th grade school accidentally had the registry enabled, even though it was managed by broward public county schools, and when I tried it, it worked! I did it on a Lenovo ThinkPad (I didn’t get in trouble doing it but think about doing it wisely)

Always be sure to back up your registry before modifying or creating any values. You don't want to edit a value or set a new value incorrectly, as a mistake that small can entirely ruin your OS. Wish this was mentioned, but it wasn't.

“Hidden keyboard shortcut”
“So first, open up regedit”

Maybe the key combo is just disabled somewhere in the registry, but if the shortcut doesn’t exist with editing the registry, then it’s not exactly as “baked-in” as this would leave you to believe.

You have a crazy definition of easter egg. A freaking regedit is in no way an easter egg lmao.

Back in vista days we were at a LAN party and decided to pull a prank on a friend who'd left his PC unlocked. While he was sleeping we changed his screensaver to a BSOD image and unplugged his mouse and keyboard. He panicked for a second we had a laugh and told him what we did. He plugged his keyboard in and his PC actually crashed with a BSOD and we couldn't get it to boot for the rest of the LAN.
