Microsoft Windows Tip - How to factory reset Windows

If you computer is slower than before or have a malware you cannot remove, or maybe you are planning to sell your computer, performing a default factory Microsoft Windows reset is the most convenient option to install a fresh new copy of Windows in your computer.

And you can do this without Windows installation disk

At the 0:41 mark of the video, you are given these choices, and these are the impacts.

Below are detail explanation of what each does.

If you select "Remove everything" option during a factory reset of Windows, it will reinstall Windows. This option will erase everything on your computer, including your personal files, installed programs, and system settings. When you choose this option, Windows will ask you whether you want to erase the drive where Windows is installed, or all the drives on your computer. Once you confirm your choice, Windows will begin the reinstallation process, which can take some time to complete. After the reinstallation is complete, you will have a fresh copy of Windows on your computer, with all the default settings and no personal files or installed programs. You will need to reinstall any programs you want to use and transfer any personal files from a backup or other storage device.

Here is how you would do it. As always, make a backup copy of your personal files before performing these task.

I have a question.

I plan to sell my laptop. My laptop is an Acer Aspire E1-571 with an Intel core i5 processor which I bought back in 2013.

The laptop had many entire personal & very privately confidential files including photos, videos, pdfs, voice recordings etc of the past 10 years. None of those files or data should not be recovered or seen by anyone ever if I sell my laptop.

Also, the system had my Skype data, chrome & other search engine data including search histories & gmail logging info.

I performed this exact procedure as shown by you in this video for the factory reset.

So, my question is that,
Is my laptop completely safe to sell now ? Is it 100% sure that no one will ever be able to recover anything from my laptop even if I sell?

Basically, it says that I need to insert a USB or something
But why? will it move all my data to that USB or what?
